I thought that it was interesting that this priest, Monsignor Lorenzo Albacete said that he lives good and evil all the time. I agree with him that it all has to do with humanity. Some events we witness are considered evil but 9/11 was different. As he says, “There was more I had to pay attention to.” When 9/11 occured the country changed the whole atmospher was different. The way he says that the Twin Towers is human dreams, human desire etc. was completely true. The Twin Towers is humanity and it was destroyed because people hated humanity and the U.S. Hatred in humanity is a part of us everyone has it and everyone has done some sort of evil action. My favorite quote in this article is, “It was to stare at it, to face it, not to go away; above all, not to look for explanations…” This spoke out to me strongly because I feel that our country tends to avoid certain events and trys to ignore what happened. However, with the magnitude of the event people were forced to face the truth, look it right in the eye and realize what was going on in their country. The supposibly safe United States of America. The humanity of U.S. citizens is hated and the realizations are hated. Evil was presented on 9/11 and caused a most horrific and dramatic impact on our country.

Evil

Evil is morally wrong or bad in our society. Evil can cause harm not only physically, but by action too. I think that evil is a force in nature that will give you wickedness and sin, which can be caused by the devil. The devil is said to provoke evil in the world. Not all people believe that the devil is the reason for evil and the devil does not exist. Many different cultures have different opinions on how evil arises. In the world today evil is described as acts, thoughts, and ideas, which are thought of as immoral, corrupt and wicked. I think evil in the modern world can be as simple as forcing someone to do something they don’t want too or gossiping about someone. Evil can also be referred to has BinLaden and Hitler because they killed thousands of people which is definitely an act of evil. I don’t think that an act of evil has to be killing thousands of people though. In the bible, the story of Job is a very good example of how evil exists and seems at times to be victorious. However, according to Christian beliefs everyone has sinned and fallen short of the perfection of God and the price of missing this perfection is death. When Jesus was crucified he was the sacrifice of a sinless, superior, and good being for the sins of mankind. Without evil our society would not be able to survive and rebuild over and over again.
